How to set up MFA

1. Sign in to your account.

2. Open Settings and select the Security tab.

3. In Multi-Factor Authentication, choose your factor:

   • Authenticator app (TOTP): Use apps like 1Password, Authy, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator.

   • Phone factor: Receive a verification code on your phone (if enabled for your account).

4. Follow the prompts to enroll the factor and verify the first code.

5. Once verified, MFA is active for your account.

Tip: We recommend using an authenticator app for the fastest and most reliable experience.

What happens when you log in

After entering your email and password:

• If MFA is required for your workspace and you have a verified factor, you’ll be prompted to enter a one-time code.

• If MFA is required but you have no verified factor, you’ll be asked to enroll MFA in Settings > Security before continuing.

• If MFA is not required, you can log in normally unless your account or workspace policy says otherwise.

How verification works

1. You select a verified factor (Authenticator or Phone).

2. We send or generate a one-time code.

3. You enter the code to complete sign-in.

If the code is invalid or expired, you can try again or request a new code.

Troubleshooting

• No code received: Try “Resend code” or switch to another verified factor.

• Code not working: Check the time on your device if using an authenticator app, then try again.

• No MFA factors listed: Go to Settings > Security to enroll one.

• Still stuck? Contact your workspace admin or support.

Security notes

• MFA is enforced at the workspace level for teams that require it.

• Your password alone is not enough when MFA is enabled.

• Always keep your recovery options up to date.
