Sequential Ticket IDs
Sequential Ticket IDs give your tickets clean, memorable numbers like #1, #2, #3 instead of random alphanumeric codes. You can also add a custom prefix to match your brand, like ACME-1 or SUP-42.
Availability
Sequential Ticket IDs are available on Starter plans and above.
How to Enable
Go to Admin → General
Find the Sequential Ticket IDs section
Toggle Enable sequential numbering on
Once enabled, all new tickets will receive incrementing numbers starting from where you left off.
Custom Prefix
Want tickets labeled DS-1 instead of #1? You can set a custom prefix:
Enable sequential numbering first
Toggle Use custom prefix on
Enter your prefix (up to 10 characters, letters, numbers, and hyphens only)
Click Save
Your tickets will now use your prefix: DS-1, DS-2, DS-3, etc.
What Happens to Existing Tickets?
Existing tickets keep their current IDs — nothing changes for tickets already in your system
Only new tickets use the sequential format
All links, references, and search results continue to work
If You Disable Sequential IDs
If you turn off sequential numbering:
New tickets will go back to using random IDs
Existing sequential tickets keep their numbers
Your counter is preserved — if you re-enable later, it picks up where you left off
If You Downgrade
If you downgrade to a plan without Sequential Ticket IDs:
New tickets will use random IDs
Existing sequential tickets keep their numbers
If you upgrade again, your counter continues from where it was
