Install the Chat Widget
Add live chat to your website.
What You'll Get
Once set up, a small chat bubble will appear on your website. When visitors click it, they can message your team directly — no email or phone needed.
Before You Start
You'll need:
Access to your Relay Pilot dashboard
The ability to edit your website (or someone who can help)
Step 1: Create Your Chat Widget
In Relay Pilot, click Admin in the left sidebar
Click Chat
Click the Create widget button
Give it a name (like "Website Chat") and click Create
Step 2: Make It Yours
Click on your new widget to customize it:
Color: Match your brand colors
Position: Choose bottom-right or bottom-left
Logo: Upload your company logo
Welcome message: What visitors see when they open the chat
Ask for email/name: Decide if you want this info before they chat
You can also add Quick Actions — buttons like "Track my order" or "Pricing question" that help visitors start a conversation faster.
Step 3: Copy the Installation Code
In your widget settings, you'll see a box with code in it. Click the Copy button to copy it.
Don't worry! You don't need to understand the code — just copy and paste it exactly as shown.
Step 4: Add It to Your Website
How you add the code depends on what you use to build your website:
Shopify
Go to your Shopify admin
Click Online Store → Themes
Click the ⋯ menu next to your theme, then Edit code
In the left sidebar, click theme.liquid
Scroll to the very bottom and find
</body>Paste your code on the line above it
Click Save
WordPress
The easiest way is with a free plugin:
Install the WPCode plugin (or "Insert Headers and Footers")
Go to Code Snippets → Add Snippet
Choose "Add Your Custom Code"
Paste your code and set location to Footer
Save and activate
Webflow
Open your Webflow project
Go to Project Settings (gear icon)
Click Custom Code
Paste your code in the Footer Code box
Save and publish your site
Squarespace
Go to Settings → Advanced → Code Injection
Paste your code in the Footer box
Click Save
Wix
Go to Settings → Custom Code
Click Add Code
Paste your code
Choose Body - end for placement
Apply to All pages
Click Apply
Other Platforms or Custom Website
Send the code to your web developer or IT team and ask them to add it to your website's footer.
Step 5: Check That It Works
Go to your website in a new browser tab
Look for the chat bubble in the corner
Click it and send a test message
Check your Relay Pilot inbox — you should see the message!
You're all set! Your visitors can now chat with you directly from your website.
Common Questions
I don't see the chat bubble
Try refreshing the page
Make sure you published/saved your changes

Can I control which pages show the chat?
